Appendix K Amendment Approved: Telehealth

On June 12, 2020, DCH submitted an Appendix K Amendment application to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) proposing to allow telehealth for delivery of community access and prevocational services otherwise provided in centers. DCH received CMS approval of the Amendment on June 15th. A copy of the Amendment is available here . 

The Amendment, which was influenced by ongoing concern for Georgia’s high risk vulnerable populations, was the result of collaborative work with the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) and informed by provider and Medicaid member comments related to reopening service settings.  

DBHDD will provide ongoing operational guidance for the delivery of such services in a meaningful model designed to enhance the independence and social involvement of Medicaid Waiver members with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The current DBHDD Operational Guidelines and any future updates are available here: https://gadbhdd.policystat.com/policy/8127003/latest/.
