Georgia Families® - Latest News

Georgia Families® is a collaboration between the Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) and private health plans calledcare management organizations (CMOs) to provide benefits and healthcare services to Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids® members, Planning for Healthy Babies® (P4HB) enrollees, and Georgia Families 360° members. PeachCare for Kids® is the State Children’s Health Insurance Program, and the P4HB program is Georgia’s Section 1115 Family Planning Waiver program. The Georgia Families 360° program facilitates the coordination of care for children, youth and young adults in foster care or receiving adoption assistance and select youth involved with the Department of Juvenile Justice. Georgia Families® currently serves approximately 1.3 million members.

By providing a choice of health plans, Georgia Families® allows members to select a healthcare plan that fits their needs. DCH currently contracts with Amerigroup, CareSource, and Peach State Health Plan. 

 

  • Posted 12/26/24: Georgia Families® Notice of Intent to Award (NOIA) Announcement

    On December 2, 2024, the Georgia Department of Administrative Services (DOAS) issued a Notice of Intent to Award (NOIA) the new Georgia Families® contract to four apparent successful health plans: 

    • CareSource Georgia Co.
    • Humana Employers Health Plan of Georgia, Inc. 
    • Molina Healthcare of Georgia, Inc.
    • UnitedHealthcare of Georgia, Inc. 

    The NOIA identified UnitedHealthcare of Georgia, Inc. as the apparent successful health plan for the Georgia Families® 360º contract. 

    This decision was made after a rigorous, competitive procurement process to ensure the best possible outcomes for our members, providers, and the state.
