Medicaid Enterprise System Transformation (MEST)

The Georgia Department of Community Health established the Medicaid Enterprise Systems Transformation (MEST) program to manage the replacement of its legacy Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS). The MEST program will improve performance, enhance quality outcomes, and provide increased value to Medicaid systems and technology with integrated, interoperable, and highly agile modules. These new modules are independent components, so the Department can prioritize implementing each module based on business needs and replace them easier than a traditional large-scale MMIS overhaul. This new approach to MMIS and Medicaid technology will bring substantial new levels of flexibility, efficiency and adaptability to the Georgia Medicaid technology ecosystem.
